Shocked and Appalled? Not so much

Is anyone really surprised anymore when any politician known for advocating some form of morality is struck down in a completely ironic fashion with their own lascivious behavior? I know I'm not. I do, however, find some bit of satisfaction when it happens, particularly to the Republican party, you know, the "Family Values" party.
The specter of adultery has struck the Grand 'Ole Perverts again, this time through the loose belt of Rep. Mark Souder of Indiana, who has chosen (like many) to resign rather than get dragged in front of an ethics committee. He supported traditional family values and abstinence education, so I'm assuming he didn't use a condom, since they don't work anyway. Here's a rundown of the most recent and hypocritical Repubs to be brought low by their dirty deeds.
George Rekers - Baptist homophobe

Roy Ashburn - California Republican
Caught (drunk driving) leaving a gay bar with another man, came out of closet later
Mike Duvall - California Republican, family values crusader
Accidentally revealed info concerning the lobbyist he had sex with
John Ensign - Nevada Republican, Evangelical
Tried to bribe staffer (and her husband) after having sex with her
David Vitter - Louisiana Republican
Identified as one of the "D.C. Madam" clients
Roland Corning - South Carolina Republican
Caught with a stripper, sex toys and Viagra--in a cemetery
Bob Allen - Florida Republican, for ban on gays adopting
Busted soliciting sex from undercover cop in park restroom
Larry Craig - Idaho Republican, against protecting LGBT people from hate crimes
Busted soliciting sex in an airport bathroom, but he's not gay, never has been
Glenn Murphey Jr. - GOP political consultant, said to use gay marriage as wedge issue
Gave a passed-out Repub friend a BJ, charged with sexual battery
Ted Haggard - Evangelical homophobe, Bush Jr. adviser

Of course there are more, and I haven't picked on the Democrats yet, but at least they don't come out so vehemently against these 'attacks' on morality, then get caught up in them themselves. At least they're just pandering for the most part, and don't really believe what they claim to, you can find find some consolation in that, I suppose, you poor, naive Conservatives.
